Why Ohana Exists
After more than ten years of working directly with children and families in the child welfare system — and after becoming a licensed foster parent — it became clear that there were many unmet needs that extended beyond what any one person could address alone. Ohana Youth & Family Solutions was created to bring communities, volunteers, businesses, churches, and supporters together so more children and families can receive hope, healing, stability, and practical support. We are not simply starting a nonprofit. We are building a movement of people who believe no child should ever feel forgotten.

After more than ten years of working directly with children and families in the child welfare system, we saw something clearly: the need is real, the gaps are significant, and communities have the power to fill them.
No single person, agency, or organization can do this alone. But together — with volunteers, donors, businesses, churches, and neighbors — we can build something that changes lives for generations.
Ohana was created because we believe communities can do more together than any one person can do alone. And we believe the best time to start is now.
